I am a professional flutist living in metro Detroit. I currently perform as a substitute musician with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Detroit Opera, as well as various weddings and worship services throughout the area. I also teach private flute lessons and workshops and have expertise in the field of performing arts health.

Biography
Francesca Leo is a cutting-edge flutist, educator, arts administrator and performing arts health advocate. A Southeast Michigan native, Francesca has won first prize in many competitions including the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs Emerging Soloist Competition, the Manhattan School of Music Eisenberg-Fried Concerto Competition, the New Albany Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, the COFA Young Artist Competition, the Arizona Flute Society Adult Division Competition, among others. Francesca holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance and an MBA from Bowling Green State University, as well as a masters degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where she was a Joseph F. McCrindle Scholarship Recipient. Her primary teachers include Jeffery Zook, Conor Nelson, Linda Chesis, Amy Likar, and Terri Sanchez. Francesca is also a 50-hour certified meditation instructor, a Body Mapping Educator Trainee, and the Chair of the National Flute Association Performance Health Care Committee. She is passionate about advocating for musicians’ health and wellness.
