Biography
Erinn Alexis is a saxophonist, composer, educator, and bandleader hailing from Detroit, MI. A graduate of Wayne State University with a degree in Jazz Performance, Erinn’s musical background is heavily steeped in the traditions of Detroit music. She grew up honing her skills by playing saxophone in church and continued to grow throughout her journey under such mentors as Wendell Harisson and Ralphe Armstrong. Erinn performs regularly with her quartet, delivering engaging sets that resonate with the audiences at local venues such as The Congregation Detroit, Moondog Cafe, and Miss Eva’s Detroit. She also teaches private lessons and conducts masterclasses and clinics for middle and high school students throughout the Detroit area.
